Janette Montague – Mo Chridhe

Another new composition from our Club Member, Janette Montague.

Performed by Callum Beaumont, it is a unique and haunting melody, ruminating on high G. It has four cycles: Urlar, Thunb, taorluth gearr, and its astonishing conclusion: an cycle in what is mistakenly called the Barludh (Joseph MacDonald’s “18th Cutting” to which a barludh is added, making it the “longest cutting…that can be contrived in any pipe composition”).

Janette is always exploring the inside of Pibroch, finding ways to expand its horizons from within.

We hope you enjoy her work as much as we do.
