Notes on Gaelic Title

Màl an Rìgh Mal an Righ / The Kings… K1 (title left incomplete); The Kings Tribute K1; Mal an Righ / The Kings Taxes KK. The King’s Taxes. Normally màl is ‘rent’ while ‘tax’ is cìs. Angus MacKay’s attempts at translation probably reflect uncertainty (he got the tune not from his father but from another informant, Ranald MacDougall).
